River Mourne Bridges, Strabane (2006)
This pair of bridges, runner-up in a 2006 international design competition, responds to their very different site contexts either side of the historic stone town bridge. One is flat and urban, set in a canalised section of the Mourne characterised by the concrete flood defence walls, the other green and hilly. However the bridges have been designed as a pair with familiar characteristics.
