Waterbeach A10 bridge lifted into place

Fantastic to see developments on site at Waterbeach over the A10! The new pedestrian, cycle and equestrian bridge has now been lifted into place. A key milestone for the project.

Designed as a distinctive architectural landmark for the new development, the bridge’s form pays homage to Waterbeach’s aviation history and the natural fen-edge landscape in the area. The contrasting use of white and dark grey in the sculpted edge beams and deck/parapet sections respectively help to accentuate the bridge’s silhouette.

This new piece of active travel infrastructure will provide a vital link between Waterbeach and Cambridge via the Mere Way, supporting sustainable mobility and enhancing connectivity for the growing community. Structural completion is expected later this month.
