New Pooley Bridge in the spotlight at Chalmers University of Technology

11 June 2020

As part of our Scandinavian Summer, Associate Héctor Beade was delighted to be a guest speaker at Chalmers University of Technology's webinar this week on advanced construction technology. Speaking about his role as Design Lead on the New Pooley Bridge project in the Lake District, Héctor - alongside guests from Outokumpu and GHD - discussed how a challenging design process led to the innovative choice of stainless steel for this replacement road bridge (it will be the first of its kind in the UK).

Based in Gothenburg, Chalmers University of Technology is an international centre of excellence, with specific focus on technology, science, architecture and maritime engineering.

Elsewhere in the region, construction on Lilla Lidingöbron in Stockholm continues apace and Martin Knight will be speaking about successfully working in Sweden as part of the Department for International Trade (DIT) Sweden / RIBA initiative on 17 June.

Keep an eye on our social media channels for links to both Héctor's and Martin's events.
