New Pooley Bridge leads resilience conversation in IABSE journal

It was wonderful to see New Pooley Bridge on the front cover of this month's IABSE SEI Journal. 

With a focus on climate-resilient infrastructure, Héctor Beade and Laura Langridge explore our work to restore the emotional as well as the physical connection in the village of Pooley Bridge, in the Lake District (UK), following devastating flooding in 2015. Through innovation and community connection we helped create a lasting legacy for the UNESCO village.

This feature also marks 20 years of our involvement with IABSE - from committee memberships and global symposia to supporting working commissions and young engineer programmes. We look forward to continuing our collaboration to shape the future of structural engineering and design.
