Double award success for Küstrin!

The Küstrin-Kietz Rail Crossing achieved a rare feat this weekend, as the project was honoured with both a Structural Award and an IABSE Award, recognising its disciplined design process, structural excellence, and precise assembly. Director Bart was on hand to accept the Structural Award in London, whilst Design Director Héctor collected the IABSE Award in Zurich.

The innovative network arch rail bridge, which spans the Oder River between Germany and Poland, beautifully distils the complexity of a large railway project to a single object with powerful, symbolic meaning. It was designed by Knight Architects, Schuessler-Plan and schlaich bergermann partner (sbp) for DB InfraGO.
