Keel Crossing permanently opens!

Keel Crossing - Sunderland’s landmark pedestrian and cyclist crossing - is open! Delivered for Sunderland City Council as part of the £600 million Riverside Sunderland regeneration programme, the bridge permanently opened on Saturday 18 October in time to welcome thousands of football fans headed to the Stadium of Light to watch Sunderland AFC take on Wolves.
The footbridge provides Riverside Sunderland with key active mobility connectivity between new neighbourhoods and the city centre, supporting Sunderland City Council’s vision for a vibrant, inclusive and internationally connected city.
