Drammen celebrates its new City Bridge
28 October 2025
Bart and Filip joined thousands of locals as the Drammen City Bridge, a transformative addition to the Norwegian cityscape, was officially opened. Spanning the River Drammenselva, the new 280m-long bridge links Bragernes to Strømsø, integrating directly with the rail station, serving pedestrians, cyclists, and public transport routes.
Featuring shallow steel arches and a graceful silhouette, Drammen City Bridge demonstrates how infrastructure can elevate place-making, strengthen urban connectivity and encourage sustainable mobility.
We’re proud of the close collaboration between Degree of Freedom, SAAHA, Knight Architects, Norconsult, Asplan Viak, Light Bureau, Scan Survey and Drammen Kommune, where engineering and design came together to create the new landmark for Drammen.
