Bridge to Impact: Infrastructure as a human right

05 November 2025

With just a few weeks until the Knight Architects team travels to Rwanda to help build a vital trail bridge with Bridges to Prosperity (B2P), Martin was pleased to moderate an event at London’s Roca Gallery exploring the theme of “Infrastructure as a Human Right”.

The packed audience heard from speakers including His Excellency the High Commissioner for Rwanda Johnstone Busingye, Foster + Partners ecologist Alex Gault, AKT II Infrastructure Director Cameron Paton, infrastructure expert Harbinder Birdi and John Dale, Chairman of B2P Trust UK. The wide-ranging discussion explored themes including the critical need for year-round connectivity in Rwanda and the social benefits this brings to communities, the importance of design informed by nature and local culture, and lessons that can be learned from infrastructure delivery in the global north.
